Think Local First Business Expo Slated For October 24
The Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Think Local First Business Expo 2012 on Wednesday, October 24 from 11:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Ramada Inn and Conference Center in Fishkill. The event will feature over 75 exhibitors targeting the business community, as well as an informative seminar series and showcase of the top caterers in the area. Whatever a business may need, be it a new product or service, a networking connection, or a spread for the holiday office party, it can be found at the Think Local First Business Expo. Admission is complimentary and the Expo is open to the public. For complete information, visit dcrcoc.org and see the event’s special web section created by Chamber member Design by MGC.
“In July, we had great success with our first Think Local First Consumer Expo,” said Chamber President and CEO Charles North. “Now we’re excited to target the business community and help promote business-to-business commerce, because when Hudson River Valley companies work together, it helps everyone in the region by keeping more of our hard-earned dollars right here at home. I encourage all professionals to make stopping by the Expo part of their business day on October 24.”
Four seminars are scheduled throughout the Business Expo, including the introduction of The Buyer’s Club, where the Chamber will directly connect businesses needing to make a purchase with a local company able to meet their needs. This meeting of buyers and sellers is a two-way street, and every attendee must have a need to purchase as well as a product or service to offer. Other seminars on the schedule include: Maximize Your Membership, where Chamber members can better learn to take advantage of all that’s available to them; as well as presentations from the Chamber’s Business Education Committee and IT Committee. All seminars are complimentary to attend. The full schedule and registration information is available at dcrcoc.org.
The traditional Chef’s Showcase has been re-tooled for a business audience, this year featuring a sampling of some of the top catering options in Dutchess County and beyond. Anyone hosting an office party or business luncheon will not want to miss this tremendous meeting, greeting and tasting opportunity. Select chefs will also be demonstrating their techniques throughout the afternoon.
