Molinaro To Speak At March Breakfast

Just over three months into his tenure as Dutchess County Executive, Marc Molinaro will speak directly to the Hudson Valley business community at the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s March Contact Breakfast on Wednesday, March 21 at 7:30 a.m. at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and Conference Center.  The keynote address will be Molinaro’s first to an all-Chamber audience since he took office in January.

Molinaro has made the fiscal health of Dutchess County a top priority in his first term. The county, as presented during the executive’s “State of the County” address in February, faces many fiscal challenges as it copes with the uncertain economy.  Molinaro also made mention of his particular concern of the limited amount of rainy-day funds in the government coffers, a situation he hopes to rectify.

During his campaign, Molinaro pledged to aid the growth of county commerce by restructuring the decade-old economic development apparatus and working with local and county-wide officials to cut through much of the red tape associated with starting and maintaining a small business.  The former state assemblyman has also pledged an increased focus on attracting new business to the region.

Immediately following his keynote, Molinaro will host a closed-door forum with members of the Hudson Valley Young Professionals (HVYP), addressing concerns specific to that demographic.  For more information about the HVYPs, visit http://www.hvyp.org.

Marshall and Sterling Insurance proudly sponsor the March Contact Breakfast.  Not-for-profit members AIDS-related Community Services, American Red Cross, Leadership Dutchess, and the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum will also be in attendance.  There is a cost of $20 per plate for members with advance registration, a $25 charge at the door, or $30 for non-members and guests.  For reservations, visit www.dcrcoc.org or call 845-454-1700 ext. 1000.
